For Such a Time As This: Do Some "Ministers" Idolize Israel?

Do Some "Ministers" Idolize Israel?

Hi -

Scriptures are from the King James Bible.

Have some "ministers" placed Israel on a pedestal? Is undue honor being given to the nation of Israel as it exists today? Yesterday, I read an excellent piece that shed some insight that altered my beliefs about current day Israel. Here are some scriptures that are helpful relative to Jews and Israel:

Deuteronomy 7:6-9

Context is important.

Romans 9:6-8
Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 9:27
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved.

Galatians 6:15, 16
For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

The present day nation of Israel has no special "status" given them by the Lord. Being a new creature in Christ Jesus is what pleases the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

3 John 4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth

The Lord is to be lifted up -- not Israel -- or anything or anyone -- above the Lord.
