Are There Present Day Apostles?

Hi -

Scriptures contain a job description, of sorts, for apostles.

1 Corinthians 4:9, 11 - 13 - KJV

. . . we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of he world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

2 Corinthians 12:2
Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

1 Thessalonians 2:6, 10
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameable we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

Ephesians 3:5
. . . holy apostles . . .

Do y'all know of any present day holy apostles? Do y'all know of any present day folks who conform to what's listed above from 1 Corinthians 4 and 2 Corinthians 12:2, which notes SIGNS of an apostle "patience, signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds."? And I'm NOT expressing about the rubbish trending these days relative to feathers, gold dust and so-called growing out legs.

  • The KJV (1611) says in 1 Corinthians 4:9, "For I thinke that God hath set forth vs the Apostles last, . . ."

The more modern KJV (not the NEW KJV) says, "For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, . . ."

  • The Geneva Bible, which was published BEFORE (1560) the 1611 King James Bible, says in 1 Corinthians 4:9, "For I thinke that God hath set forth vs the last Apostles, as men appointed to death: . . ."

    ###

Yes, it says, THE LAST APOSTLES . . .

    ###

That makes me think more that there are no present day apostles . . .
And some of those present day so-called apostles be about so-called growing out legs. Um, there are lots of folks whose legs don't walk anymore at all. Why aren't the so-called apostles doing their "miracles" on folks who can't walk? They'd rather "grow out legs" on folks who are ALREADY WALKING. Puh-leeze.

Can we say, "PRIORITIES?!"

In the Bible, REAL apostolic actions were -- raising the dead, casting out devils, the lame WALKING, etc.

The apostle topic was posted in a Facebook group.  The link is below.

I'm not sure how long Facebook keeps posts in their system.
